I am 63 years old, and getting dressed for anything beyond my own kitchen had become a small daily dread. My blouses were either pale and plain, the kind that show every little mark of a warm afternoon, or so fussy about tucking and buttons that I gave up before I started. So I settled for the same safe navy top, week after week.
