I am 63 years old, and getting dressed for anything nice had quietly become a small dread. Everything elegant left my arms bare, clung where I would rather it didn't, or looked too delicate to sit down in. So most evenings I settled for the same tired cardigan and slacks.

It wore on me more than I let on. I had started to feel a little invisible in my own clothes.
