I am 63, and the thing that finally gets you is not the cold. It is the weight. My winter coat is warm and by the time I have carried it round the grocery store I want it off my shoulders more than I want to be warm. So I started leaving it in the car and going out underdressed instead, which is how a woman my age ends up with a cough in November.
